Dubai — The UAE was aflutter with flags on Wednesday as people across the country flew the UAE flag at public and private buildings, schools and offices as well as at homes with a sense of pride and honour.
The people, Emiratis and expatriates alike were responding to the call of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed Bin Rashid, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to show their patriotism on Flag Day.
“The flag is a trust that we received from our founding fathers… it is a trust with my brother, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with me and with every Emirati man and woman and a trust in the hands of the next generations,” said Shaikh Mohammed.
Galadari Brothers Group joined the Flag Day celebrations with Khaled Soliman, Group CEO hoisting the UAE flag at their Corporate Headquarters.
“The hoisting of the National flag was a show of love and support for the UAE and created a sense of togetherness with the country, the staff and the community,” Khaled commented.
November 3 is the official date for Flag Day, the anniversary of the accession of Shaikh Khalifa and the Flag Day celebrations will continue till December 2 when the country celebrates its 43rd year of independence.
