Dubai — Residents of Dubai Sports City can now subscribe to Khaleej Times, the UAE’s first English newspaper, following a business deal signed between the two entities. DSC Chief Financial Officer Vijay Sajjanhar and Khaleej Times Senior Vice-President, Finance and Operations, Saghir Ahmed Khan, signed the contract at the DSC headquarters on Thursday.
Khan said there was no better time to bolster Khaleej Times’ long association with the DSC. “I am sure this breakthrough, which is in line with the DSC’s expansion plans, will benefit both of us,” he added.
Located off Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, DSC now has a thriving community of almost 10,000 residents living in the 50-million square feet mixed-use development that aims to be the world’s first integrated purpose-built sports city.
Sajjanhar said the partnership with the region’s popular newspaper, which offers an outstanding mix of the latest local and world news, together with in-depth commentaries and entertainment news, came as DSC looked forward to an exciting 11th year of operation.
“DSC is a very safe and livable community that offers a good mix of education and sports facilities. We want residents to be healthy and that is why we are offering a whole range of sports facilities, schools, academies, and international coaches. We have got one of the best sport facilities accessible to all…from the grassroots to the international arena.”
“With all the developments happening here, it is very evident that DSC has positioned itself back into the market. But, we have not stopped ourselves from investing in infrastructure…and we would exploit our capacity to build more units within the master community project before Expo 2020.” Sajjanahr added.
